Donna Noyes - Clarinet

Donna Noyes enjoyed a successful teaching and performing career for eleven years in the Minneapolis area before relocating to Howard County, Maryland in 2011. She is a clarinetist and West Virginia native with an extensive list of accolades for her abilities in both performance and education. A professional clarinetist from the age of 16, Donna has performed with many orchestras, bands, and theatres in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota, including West Virginia Public Theatre, Johnston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, Encore Wind Ensemble, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra, Saint Paul Civic Symphony, River Valley Symphony, Hunt Valley Symphony Orchestra, Euphony Clarinet Quartet, Appalachian Wind Quintet, and Linguine Duo (with fellow HVSO clarinetist Roland Rizzo).

In addition to performing with large ensembles, Donna has constantly pursued chamber music performances and maintained a large private clarinet studio. Her students reach high performance levels under her direction, as well, placing into All-State, invitational honor bands, elite youth symphony positions, and performance-based scholarships. A former Interlochen Governor’s Scholar and Clarinet Performance student at West Virginia University, she uses her expertise in attaining high-performance awards to educate her students on how to do the same.

When she is not performing or teaching lessons, Donna enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and four daughters, knitting, sewing, photography, and teaching mathematics at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland.
